In this article and video, we’ll take you through the history of Walt and his dreams – from Mickey Mouse, to Disneyland, to Walt Disney World.

Walt first dreamed up the idea for Disneyland at Griffith Park while watching his daughters on the merry-go-round. He thought to himself that there ought to be some sort of amusement enterprise for the whole family. Something that everyone can participate in, big or small. The idea of Disneyland was formed, and from there Walt’s dreams got bigger and bigger.

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955 and wowed guests from the start. The park had more success than Walt had ever imagined it could. Less than a decade later he started planning his next park: Walt Disney World. This park would consist of both a theme park like Disneyland and a futuristic city called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

What started from one small idea came something amazing: a worldwide network of theme parks, focused on dreams and magic. In this video, we’ll take you through the history of Walt and his dreams – from Mickey Mouse, to Disneyland, to Walt Disney World.
