Disney Parks Blog just announced that all Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween parties have been cancelled for 2020 at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. This is due to restrictions from COVID-19 set in place by both Disney and the state. Since the majority of special events at the parties include exclusive parades, shows, and character meet-and-greets, there is no way to provide these offerings while adhering to social distancing guidelines. The Disney Parks Blog announcement states:

While assessing another fall special event, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we determined that many of its hallmarks – stage shows, parades and fireworks – are unable to take place in this new, unprecedented environment. With that in mind, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

They also announced that this years’ H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon are cancelled. No update has yet been made on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and other holiday events, such as the Candlelight Processional, but Disney has stated that they are closely monitoring the situation and will make a decision as they learn more from health and government officials.

There is some good news – there will be a modified Food and Wine Festival at Epcot! Details have not been announced yet, but stay tuned to learn more.
