Beginning Memorial Day weekend, the Walt Disney World Resort will be hosting an “Incredible Summer” in honor of the Incredibles 2 being released in June! Throughout this celebration, all four parks (plus Disney Springs) will have special events, meet & greets, and shows honoring the Incredibles and all of your favorite Disney pals.
Prepare for a super takeover! For the duration of the celebration, the super heroes from the Incredibles will be taking over Tomorrowland to celebrate and party with guests. Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone will be interacting with guests throughout the land, as well as, for the first time ever, the famous Edna Mode! At the end of the day, you can join the supers for a dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage!
The highlight of the Incredible Summer will be the debut of Toy Story Land! Located behind Toy Story Mania, this new 11-acre land will bring guests out of Orlando and into Andy’s backyard. The Alien Swirling Saucers will spin guests through a Pizza Planet toy set, while the Slinky Dog Dash will send families through a series of dips and turns that Andy created to stretch Slink! Toy Story Mania will have a new entrance located within the land (which sadly, does mean that we’ll be saying goodbye to the current Pixar Place alley), and a new quick-service kiosk, Woody’s Lunch Box, will feature old-fashioned soda floats.
On April 22, 2018, Animal Kingdom will officially celebrate its 20th anniversary! As part of the festivities, Donald Duck will be taking over Dinoland U.S.A., where he’ll be hosting a “dino-tastic” celebration. It will feature a number of prehistoric elements and of course, lots of Donald Duck!
The former Flights of Wonder show will also re-open as Explorers Meet UP! A Great Bird Adventure. This new show will feature Senior Wilderness Explorer Russell and his trusty sidekick Dug as they discover species of birds from around the world.
The American Gardens Theatre will be taken over by the super heroes from Guardians of the Galaxy this summer! Star-Lord and Gamora will join an alien band to spin tracks from the two movies and help guests kick off their “Incredible Summer”.
Disney Springs continues to expand and throughout the “Incredible Summer”, will be home to a number of new and exciting offerings! Star Wars fans can bring the franchise to life in the new virtual reality Secrets of the Empire experience, while foodies can lounge at new restaurants such as The Edison, Maria & Enzo’s, and Terralina Crafted Italian. This spring, Wine Bar George will also open as the only Master Sommelier-led wine bar in Florida!
